Copy link text without opening the link
Try to select the words inside a link and the browser opens the link. Try to copy a menu item and the menu closes. Try to grab the label of a button and you submit a form. Copy Link Text fixes all of that. Turn it on and clicking stops doing what it normally does: instead, one click copies the visible text of whatever you clicked.
Works on the hard-to-select things
Links, buttons, navigation menus, tabs, list items, table cells and dropdown options all copy cleanly. A dropdown copies the option you can see, not a hidden value. The text is trimmed, so you get the words without stray spaces or line breaks.
Need the address instead?
Right-click a link to copy its URL. That makes it easy to collect both the anchor text and the address of a link, for example when you are building a link report or a content inventory.
Pause when you need the page
Sometimes you have to open a menu before you can copy what is inside it. Hold Alt to use the page normally for a moment, open the dropdown, then let go and click the item to copy it. For longer breaks, the Pause button switches copy mode off until you press Resume.
Your last copies, close at hand
A small history keeps your last eight copies, so you can copy one again without finding it on the page. Press Esc when you are done.
