A cookie editor for developers and testers

Cookie Editor shows every cookie the site you are on has set, in one tidy list. Each cookie carries clear badges for Secure, HttpOnly, Session and SameSite, plus its expiry date, with cookies that expire within a day highlighted. From there you can change any value, add a new cookie, delete the ones you do not need, or clear the whole site in one go.

Because it uses the browser’s cookie API, it also shows HttpOnly cookies, which page scripts and the browser console cannot see.

Find the cookie you need fast

Sites can set dozens of cookies. Search by name, value or domain, or use the filter tabs to show only session cookies, Secure cookies, HttpOnly cookies or cookies with a SameSite setting. Copy any value with one click.

Edit every attribute

Open a cookie to change its name, value, domain and path, switch Secure and HttpOnly on or off, set SameSite to Lax, Strict or None, and pick an expiry date or make it a session cookie. The editor warns you when a setting cannot work, such as SameSite None without Secure, so you do not save a cookie the browser will reject.

Import and export

  • JSON: a readable format that is easy to store, diff and share between tools.
  • Netscape: the classic cookies.txt format used by command-line tools such as curl and wget.
  • Header string: a ready-made Cookie header to paste into an API client or a test script.

Import a file to restore a saved session or move it to another browser profile.

What it is good for

  • Testing logins and sessions: expire a session, switch between test accounts, or reproduce a bug that only happens for one user.
  • Debugging consent banners: delete the consent cookie to see the banner again, or check which cookies load before consent.
  • API work: export the session as a header and use it in the API Tester or a script.
  • Feature flags and A/B tests: change a cookie value to switch variants without waiting for the split.

Cookies hold login sessions, so treat exports like passwords and never share them. Cookie Editor keeps everything in your browser.

Tip: Open the DevToolkit popup and press K to see the current site's cookies.

Cookie Editor questions

Is Cookie Editor free?

Cookie Editor is part of DevToolkit Pro, a one-time payment from $25 with no subscription.

Can it edit HttpOnly cookies?

Yes. HttpOnly cookies are hidden from page scripts, but Cookie Editor uses the browser's own cookie API, so it can view and change them.

What is the Netscape cookie format?

It is the plain text cookies.txt format that tools like curl, wget and many downloaders read. Export in this format to reuse a browser session in those tools.

Is it safe to export cookies?

The export stays on your computer. Treat the file like a password, though: login cookies let anyone who has them act as you on that site until the session ends.

Does it show cookies for other sites?

It shows the cookies for the site you are on, so the list stays focused on what you are working with.
