Dark mode for websites that don't have one
Dark Mode turns bright white websites dark with one switch. Open it from the DevToolkit popup, turn on Dark mode on this page, and the site switches to a dark theme straight away. DevToolkit remembers your choice, so the site opens dark next time too.
Free: dark mode site by site
Turn dark mode on or off for each website you visit, and set the brightness to 80, 90 or 100 percent to take the glare down further at night. It is free and has no limits.
Pro: dark mode your way
- Sepia mode: a warm, paper-like tone that many people find easier than pure dark for long reading.
- Dark mode on all websites: every site you open is dark, without turning it on one by one.
- Schedule: choose the hours when dark mode turns on, for example from 20:00 to 08:00, for all sites or with different hours for specific sites.
- Sites to skip: keep certain sites in their normal colours, such as design tools where colours must be exact.
Why use dark mode?
A dark screen in a dim room is easier on the eyes and less dazzling late at night. Many people also simply prefer it for coding and reading. Lower brightness and a night schedule help your screen follow the light around you, without you having to remember.
Who uses it
- Developers who already use dark editors and terminals and want the web to match.
- Night owls reading and browsing late in the evening.
- People sensitive to glare who find bright pages tiring.
Dark Mode changes colours in your browser only. Websites look normal again as soon as you turn it off.
Tip: Open the DevToolkit popup and press 2 on the hub to switch dark mode for the site you are on.
